Postdoctoral position
Starting date: January 2012
We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to join our team involves in splicing regulation of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene. This research project aims to develop large scale screenings of cis-acting sequences and trans-acting factors involved in splicing of the DMD gene in normal and pathological conditions. Contributing to a better knowledge of the regulatory elements controlling splicing in the DMD gene is of major importance for the splicing-based therapies currently in clinical trials for DMD. Also this project is expected to provide valuable information on the sequence elements important for splicing in mammals.
The successful applicant will have a recent PhD or post-doc position in a relevant field, a strong academic record, and solid experience in molecular and cellular biology ideally with a background in RNA biology and skills in cell culture. Interest in human genetic diseases would be a plus.
To apply, please send as soon as possible a CV with full supporting documentation (publication list, names for two references, a statement of research interests) to Sylvie Tuffery-Giraud. Informal enquiries are welcome.
