RNA MIS-SPLICING: DISEASE & THERAPEUTICS
EURASNET INTERDISCIPLINARY FOCUS MEETING
CHURCHILL COLLEGE
UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, UK
JULY 12-14, 2010
Organisers:
Chris Smith (Cambridge) & Matthew Wood (Oxford)
Description:
Errors in pre-mRNA splicing and misregulation of alternative splicing are associated with the molecular pathology of a large number of human diseases. At the same time, manipulation of pre-mRNA splicing provides opportunities for therapeutic intervention. This meeting will focus on therapeutic strategies targeting pre-mRNA splicing events. The fourteen invited speakers have been selected to provide balanced coverage of both antisense based strategies and small-molecule effectors of splicing. The scientific sessions will be held on Tuesday 13 July and the morning of Wednesday 14 July. In addition there will be a poster session on the evening of July 13. Submission of abstracts for poster presentation is invited. A small number of abstracts may also be selected for short oral presentations.
