Workshop and Symposium on Alternative Splicing and Genetic Disease

ORGANIZERS:
Diana BARALLE,
Mario TOSI and
Stefan STAMM

This two day event is targeted for clinical geneticists who are interested in diseaserelevant changes in alternative splicing, usually caused by a mutation. The first day is a workshop, which is divided in two parts: the first one on bioinformatics analysis of mutations that may have an impact on alternative splicing and the second one on the interpretation of sequence variants that affect splicing, in the molecular diagnostic context. Participants will have the opportunity to send their splicingrelated mutations and questions to the workshop organizers and these mutations will be discussed. The second day is a symposium that gives an overview of the current knowledge of alternative splicing as it relates to human diseases. Please, check the programme of symposium for more information.
